New water heater replacement for a customer in Dee Why
We were recently called to assist a customer in Dee Why whose 15-year-old electric storage hot water system had begun leaking. The customer was not only worried that she had no hot water, but also the damage caused to her unit and the unit below from the leaking water heater. Over the phone, we explained how she could turn off her water heater and stop further damage while she waited for us to arrive on-site within the hour.
Once on-site, we realised we had another challenge… The existing water heater was installed inside a very tight cupboard, leaving barely any space to move. To safely remove the old water heater, we carefully removed part of the door jamb and cupboard door to create enough clearance. Once the area was accessible, we extracted the old leaking tank and prepared the space for the new installation.
Once we could assess the problem, it was evident that the storage tank had split and was beyond economical repair. The cheapest option was water heater replacement.
Rinnai 250L Compact Electric Hot Water System
With the cupboard cleared, we supplied and installed a Rinnai 250-litre compact electric hot water system. Its clever, space-saving design made it the perfect fit for the confined area while still providing excellent hot water capacity for the customer’s household needs.
Once installed, we reattached the door and frame, leaving everything neat, tidy and fully functional. The customer was thrilled to have her new water heater operating perfectly.
Best of all, she should notice lower energy bills, as modern electric systems are far more energy-efficient thanks to improvements in insulation, thermostats and heating elements over the past 15 years.
